LOCATION: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

JOB TITLE: Locomotive Technician

SALARY & BENEFITS: £27,5000 + Shift Allowance

WORKING HOURS: Full Time

THE ROLE: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Locomotive Technician to join our clients team in Doncaster.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- -

To deliver engineering services to Electro-Motive customers, primarily locomotive maintenance to ensure fleet reliability

Responsible for the high quality and effective execution of allocated contract maintenance
-

Carry out maintenance and fault finding on customer's products
-

Respond to the customer's unscheduled events
-

Complete all relative documentation
-

Comply with the Company's Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental Policies at all times

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate must have had experience working on Class 66 locomotives should have good electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge. Although not essential knowledge or experience of wheel re profiling and welding would also be an advantage.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL:- -

Must have good electrical and engineering knowledge

BTEC /ONC in Engineering or equivalent, Electrical or mechanical is essential

Experience working on Class 66 locomotives
-

NVQ level 3 in railway traction engineering
-

Experience with Electrical traction and Diesel engineering technology.

Knowledge of maintenance, overhaul and repair of rail vehicles
-

Ability to work under your own initiative and pro actively deliver the service

A logical, approach to problem solving on electrical and mechanical equipment

Driving Licence and use of own vehicle essential
