TEMPORARY CONTRACT

AN ENHANCED CRB ISSUED BY CAPITA RESOURCING IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE.

The EWS is a statutory service operating on behalf of the Local Authority (LA). It is commissioned by the Schools, Children and Families Directorate to fulfil the LA's duties with regard to the Education Act 1996 and the Children Act 1989 & 2002 relating specifically to matters of school attendance.

We are looking to develop a team of experienced and effective Local Authority Education Attendance Officers who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of children in Essex. This work will be on an "as and when required" basis and paid on an hourly rate for work undertaken. This exciting development is new, so whilst we can not guarantee a certain level of hours, we can assure you that we will work closely with you to offer the benefits of a flexible working pattern to compliment your current commitments, whilst still providing the very best service to our schools and academies.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Ensuring the highest standard of service delivery to schools and families and championing the needs of the child
- Providing support and assistance to the Local Authority Education Welfare Officers and Senior Education Welfare Officers
- Ensuring the service delivery is of the highest quality and offering the best value to both schools and academies
- Helping to build and sustain effective partnerships with agencies within private, voluntary and community sectors
- Providing advise and support to schools and other settings and where appropriate within the EWS new ways of working to improve and maintain whole school attendance, establishing effective relationships within the local community and schools
