Liquidity/Capital Actuary

I am currently recruiting for a Liquidity/Capital Actuary for a 6-12 month contract working with one of the leading Life & Pensions businesses.

The daily rate for this role is £650-750p/d depending on the level of experience the candidate can offer.

Job Role:

- Update liquidity forecasts as a result of selling excess unit linked assets which bring new sources of liquidity and liquidity risk.
- Update the base liquidity forecasts for changes.
- Work collaboratively and iteratively to explore new liquidity risk through scenario and stress testing of the base liquidity forecast.
- Provide commentary on any investigations and seek stakeholder agreement on achievability and capacity of assumed management actions recommended.
- Update the Liquidity Policy, Risk Appetite and Risk Monitoring Framework and prepare formal documentation for review and sign-off by the technical design authority, Asset Liability Committee and any other internal governance as appropriate.
- Carry out reconciliation of Liquidity MI.
- Populate Liquidity MI templates to reflect emerging forecasts, updating existing MI where possible.
- Work with Capital Management and Liquidity Risk Management to ensure new short and longer term liquidity risks are incorporated into existing monitoring frameworks including a comprehensive trigger and controls framework.
- Produce process documentation.

Qualifications:

- Strong IT skills - Scenario & Stress Testing. eg Excel.
- Numerate and analytical with a developed capability to interpret data and establish alternatives and solutions to complex problems.
- Strong communication skills - including report writing and Senior Management.
- Knowledge and understanding of Actuarial principles, formulae and methodology relevant to the Life business.
- A good understanding of statutory, legal and regulatory frameworks and corporate governance.
- Prior experience in Capital and Liquidity management in a large life company.
