Linux Systems Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:
Industry Leader is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer for a 3+ month contract position in Perimeter Mall area. The Engineer will provide support and daily administration of Linux based systems. This individual will be responsible for the operational management of all Linux based production, staging, and development systems in North America. Responsibilities also involve implementing network hardware and software; monitoring of devices; supporting operational issues; project implementation; providing training and assistance to users and coworkers.

NOTE: Candidates must be willing to work NIGHT & WEEKEND shifts (eg, 7PM to 3AM, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday).

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- 3+ years of Linux Systems Engineering experience
- 3+ years of operational support in a large enterprise environment with a 24/7 availability requirement.
- Strong knowledge of core OS Linux support including Apache/Tomcat.
- Willing to work night & weekend shifts.

PLUS SKILLS:

- Experience troubleshooting network and connectivity related issues
- Experience working in or with Virtualization solutions (eg, VMware)
- Experience working with load balancing equipment
- LPIC, CCNA, BIG-IP LTM certifications would be a strong plus.
