Linux Systems Administrators - Multiple Positions

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Working through System operation;
- Establishment of internal capability required to deliver services;
- Transition of services, roles and support responsibilities to the new support teams;
- Provide input to the service continuity planning process and implement resulting plans;
- Provide regular status updates on projects, including progress updates and identification of technical risks and issues associated with them;
- Manage the redundancy and failover systems;
- Tune and monitor operating system performance and assist with application tuning;
- Maintain the security and integrity of the network and systems;
- Support production systems, analyse problems, and configure systems within the distributed computing environment;
- Provide technical guidance and training to other staff, including the transfer of skills within the team

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Proven experience in managing a set of enterprise Linux systems;
- Experience with Enterprise storage subsystems (SAN);
- Experience working within large complex environments;
- Experience with Delivering/Documents on project or BAU requirements specific to Unix/Linux Systems and Storage;
- Experience automating OS builds;
- Experience with integrating OS authentication against LDAP and Active Directory;
- General skills in IT infrastructure, networking, security;
- Familiarity with Intel hardware platforms, as well as VMWare virtual platforms;
- Knowledge of networking protocols, WAN and LAN technologies.
- Shell and PERL Scripting skills;
- Familiarity with open source software like tomcat/Apache;
- Familiarity with a high level language such as Java.
