Linux System Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Linux System Engineer for our client in Brussels
Job description:
A typical working day would include the following tasks for the Linux system engineer:
- Red Hat OS deployment (RHEL 7.1)
- User management in NIS and OpenLDAP
- Basic networking configuration (configuring routes, requesting IP addresses, configuring VLANs on VMware vSwitches)
- Writing scripts that support OS configuration and deployment
- Managing our Red Hat Satellite instances (currently used for managing our OS baseline (RPM) and configuration files)
- Enhancing our monitoring environment (Centreon+Nagios)
- Managing our VMware environment (ESXi 5.5 + vCenter Operations + vCNS)
- Basic SAN+NAS configuration (EMC VMAX + EMC VNX: configure LUNs, configure NAS filesystems, modifying NAS exports)
- Case follow-up with underpinning contracts (Red Hat, VMware, HP)
We are currently focussing a lot on automation and aligning the different Linux environments. For this we already developed custom tooling and are looking into various tools on the market to support this.
It would be nice if our future colleague would have any knowledge of one of these tools/script languages:
- Tools: Ansible/Puppet/Chef
- Scripting skills: Ruby/Python/Perl
Education: Experience: Medior
Soft skills:
- By preference no team lead or technical lead skills
- We are looking for a Linux expert who wants to stay in his/her position.
Technical skills (must have):
- OS: Linux RedHat/CentOS
- Apps: OpenLDAP, MySQL
- Scripting: Bash, Perl, Python, Awk
- Virtualization: VMware
- Monitoring: Nagios
Technical skills (nice to have):
- OS: Solaris
- Apps: Puppet/Chef
- Scripting: Javascript (Front End UI development), Ruby Programming: Java
- Network: CCNA
- Storage: EMC
Languages:
- English: >= highly proficient in spoken and written English
