Linux System Administrator (M-W 11pm - 7am and S/S 8am-4:30pm)

*Minimum 6 month contract, could extend for multiple years*
*Monday through Wednesday, 11pm -7am shift, Saturday and Sunday 8am-4:30pm shift* Thursday and Friday off*

Prestigious Financial Firm is seeking a Linux System Admin for a 3rd shift Tier 2 support role. This is monitoring critical financial systems that need to be up and running.

- 1-3 years of senior open platform operations experience which leads into new SYS-ADMIN entry level skill sets
- Familiarity with Solaris and a variant of Linux (REDHAT 6.1 preferred)
- Being able to check network interfaces and gateways
- Being able to shutdown/startup OS
- Being able to check out disk drives/cpus and memory
- Limited Shell programming capabilities (SH/KSH)
- Creation of accounts/and checking processes
- Logical volume management (LVM/Veritas)
- Web interface management (DRAC/ILOM/SP)
- Vendor liaison for troubleshooting needs
- Peer interactions with OPS/SYSADMINS/NETWORK/HARDWARE
- Self actualizing individual with good growth potential
- Good documentation from the night's activities
- Must be a self starter/independent worker
