Linux System Administrator/ System Administrator/ Network Administrator / Unix System Administrator/ System Administration

An exciting software house with great mix of technical experts including developers and SEO experts is seeking a new Linux Systems Administrator. The role of Linux System Administrator is for someone self-disciplined who is an experienced expert in Linux based system administration.

The client is based in North Yorkshire and is looking for Linux System Administrator to work closely with a talented team of Software Engineers to build tools and manage releases.

The successful candidate will possess a great eye for detail, creative approach to problems, experience of tuning servers and services, creating tools to support, maintain and monitor hardware and hosting and advising project teams on development aspects within your remit.

Required Experience:

5 - 6 years of experience as a Linux System and Network Administrator,

Strong scripting skills with Perl and/or Python

Strong networking skills: TCP/IP, network protocols such as HTTP, IRC, DNS, DHCP ability to analyze and trouble shoot network problems

Experience with packet processing tools such as wireshark

Basic web development skills: HTML, CGI, JS, PHP, Django etc

Good database skills.

Experience with source control tools such as SVN

Excellent organizational skills including ability to manage own time effectively

Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills

Strong problem solving skills, ability to analyze complex multivariate problems and use a systematic approach to gain quick resolution, often under duress

Experience working closely with Software Developers in a fast paced environment is a big plus.
