Linux System Admin - Limerick 4 Months with a view for a 6 Month extension Daily Rate
My Client is looking for a Linux System Administrator to work in their office's in Limerick.
Duties:
- Provide Level 1-2+ User and Linux support as a member of the helpdesk team. Interact directly with users to provide solutions to hardware/software issues arising.
- Technical support and general troubleshooting for Linux hardware (Desktops and Servers), Operating System and related Applications.
- Installation, Configuration and management of Linux Desktops, Servers and Virtual machines
- Performance Monitoring of Linux resources-Engage in automating routine tasks using Scripting languages.
Required skills:
- You must have a BS in Computer Science or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- RHCE Certification or equivalent
- Solid understanding and direct experience of Linux (Red Hat 5/6) based System Administration and User Support in an enterprise environment (Desktops, Servers and Virtual machines)
- Solid Understanding of Networking and Distributed computing, NFS, Automounter, LDAP, DNS, Kickstart, Sendmail, SSH, TCP/IP Networking, System Security
- Hands-On experience on hardware/software and OS installations and configurations (Red Hat Linux, Ontap, ESXi)
- Hands-On experience on System and Network performance tuning, file system management, performance analysis, network monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Hands-On experience in writing scripts in an administrative language (Csh/sh/ksh Shell, Python, Perl, Tk, PHP, PowerCLI)
- Highly customer focused with strong communication skills and comfortable working with end-users in person and over the phone
- Comprehensive problem solving and strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people
- Ability to work equally well as part of a team or independently
Preferred skills:
- Knowledge in administering and supporting of NAS/SAN/RAID Storage technologies (preferably Net Apps)
- Knowledge in administering and supporting Virtualized environments (preferably Vmware, ESXi 5.x
