Linux Support Officer

We have an opportunity for a Linux Support Officer based in Leeds working for one of the largest Research Institutes in the Country. The organisation is looking to bring in a new Linux Support Officer to provide support to a number of linux server clusters and a storage area network. Candidates wishing to apply must have previous experience in supporting LINUX based systems as well as UNIX and Apple and the role will involve having the responsibility of managing the VMWare ESX cluster.
The organisation is looking to bring in a candidate who can not only offer support on the following; UNIX, Linux and Apple Servers, workstations and desktop PC's, but also to communicate and explain complex and detailed systems knowledge effectively to ensure staff development on key areas.
