Linux Support Engineer, Leeds 250 per day

2nd Line Linux Support Contractors required. We are currently recruiting on behalf of a major public sector organisation for a number of Second Line Linux Support Engineers to monitor and maintain live service of in-house developed systems. This requirements is for 2nd line Linux support person rather than a systems administrator. All activities will be executed according to Run Book operating procedures. Generic Linux experience (in a major distribution) is acceptable so Redhat/Debian is acceptableThe contract duration will be 6 months. The team will manage the service on a 24-hour shift pattern (4 x 12 hour shifts on, 4 days off). Candidates must have the ability to process and coordinate appropriate and timely responses to requests for information, including channelling requests for help to appropriate functions for resolution, monitoring resolution activity and keeping clients informed of progress. Managing and providing expert advice in a specific technical area. Experienced user of a Service Management workflow tool. Ability to work to a 12hr shift pattern. Specific tasks include:Pro-active monitoring of the solution, and the initial triage of all events; Event Management (respond to system and service events according to Key Operating Procedures).Perform service Health Checks Incident Management Process Deployment Issue Resolution Requests Operate Accelerated Change Process (code deployment)
