Linux Red Hat Architect

The customer has no experience with Red Hat Linux yet.

First goal is to provide a design and build a platform that is prepared for IaaS and PaaS and able to provision 3 flavors of VM's (small, medium, large) starting at the 1st of January 2018. No Service Catalog yet, a "simple" ignite of a script is sufficient in this stage. Primarily Red Hat Linux will be provisioned, however the same tools (automation) must be able to provision Windows VM's as well. Integration with Management system(s) and Backup/Restore.

Our client wants to be able in the future to move these VM's from/to Microsoft Azure in the Public Cloud, transparent for system management tools in use. The design must make clear whether this prerequisite can be met and if so, what is required to achieve this.

Tasks regarding RHEL on VMware:

- Create High Level Design
- Create Low Level Design

Build the platform, including patch management and automated provisioning of 3 flavors VM's: small, medium.

Skills Needed

The consultant needs to interact with employees himself. Because of the lack of a project team, the consultant must be perseverant and communicative.

Technical knowledge required:

- RHEL specialist
- VMware knowledge
- To-be selected provisioning/automation tools for VMware/Red Hat/Windows VM's
- Security knowledge to be able to harden the golden image
- Experience with RHEL Patching solution(s)
- Experience Monitoring Solutions (Nagios )
- Experience with Backup/Restore
