Linux Engineer/Infrastructure Engineer - Server Build, Red Hat Linux

LINUX ENGINEER/INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER - SERVER BUILD, RED HAT LINUX, IBM AIX

A Unix Engineer is required to join an infrastructure support and project team within a leading Settlements provider to build Servers and provide 2nd and 3rd line support. The role is based in London and offers a daily rate between £350 - 400.

You will have the opportunity to work on site at a leading Settlements provider, working with applications and Servers that process sensitive and critical information. Working closely with various project teams, your work will be varied, requiring an experienced and adaptable Unix Engineer. Along with this, you will get the chance to create, review and validate technical documentation for the Unix Administration team.

You will be responsible for providing 2nd and 3rd level support for over 650 IBM AIX, Oracle Solaris and Red Hat Linux Servers. You will also be accountable for building Unix/Linux Servers using BMC BladeLogic and other automation tools.

REQUIREMENTS

- Proven experience as a Unix Engineer, preferably within Financial Services.
- Good understanding of the following Operating Systems/Software:

IBM AIX v6.x, 7.x

Red Hat Linux 5.x, 6.x, 7.x

Red Hat Cluster

Kickstart and RPM/yum

Pacemaker

KVM

RHEV

Kickstart and RPM/yum

TCP/IP Networking

Software and Hardware RAID Products

EMC Networker

- It would also be beneficial to have knowledge in the following technologies:

Security tools and concepts (SSH, SSL, PKI etc)

BladeLogic Server Automation

WEB/eBusiness technologies (LDAP, Apache etc.)
