Linux Engineer - HFT - Chicago

Linux engineer - HFT -Chicago Only candidates from the Chicago Metro area need apply to this role. My client is looking for a highly ambitious junior linux engineer that is seeking to enter the HFT sphere. You will be provided with an on-site 6 week training of the products my client trades in whilst starting on the small linux team. Depending on your own talent and hunger for initiative taking, you will learn and develop your technical skills as quickly as you would like in this flat organization. Whilst doing so, you will be exposed to all the latest in technology. Your technical profile: - At least 2-3 years working experience in Linux administration (all open source flavors such as Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu) and network administration (Cisco routing and switching) - Experience with various scripting languages: Bash, Python, Shell, Perl - Experience with monitoring and automation tools is a big plus: zabbix, nagios, puppet, and cacti Successful candidates will possess the following competencies: - you like working in a flat organization where you are often times required to work independently - you are someone that loves taking initiative and drive your own development - you are passionate about technical innovation - you are looking to break into the HFT space - you are not the typical introvert techie, but actually know how to deal liaise with non-technical people as well.
