Linux engineer - Finance -Chicago

My client is looking for someone that is going to be primarily responsible for the building and deploying of the Linux server environment (CentOS).

You will be in charge of designing the resource allocation -

How many Linux servers are needed, how will the network interfaces be configured? Also, you would become partly responsible for the design of the trading platform (Linux kernel, new hardware). Finally, you will be taking care of monitoring and automation of the Linux environment through both open source tools as well as scripting.

Your profile:

- BSc in Computing Science
- At least 5 years working experience engineering Linux environments, doing set-ups and deployment
- Indepth knowledge of low level system details on hardware and linux
- Monitoring and automation experience
- Scripting; perl or C++
- Excellent communication skills
- Previous working experience in HFT/Prop shops would be a plus
