Linux Engineer

My client is based in Brussels, Belgium. We are currently looking for a Linux Engineer to start ASAP on an initial 6 Month contract, with a view to then turn permanent.

YOU WILL HAVE SKILLS THAT MATCH THE FOLLOWING:

- Several years of experience in supporting, maintaining and engineering Red Hat Enterprise Linux v5 and higher
- Operational experience with VMware ESX and KVM virtualization technologies
- Operational experience with Storage Area Network (SAN) is a distinct advantage
- Knowledge of Veritas Volume Manager & Veritas File System, and experience with clustering software like Veritas Cluster Server is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of common networking & security protocols, DNS, SSL/TLS, ...
- Cross Linux/Unix experience (on HP/UX & Solaris specifically)
- Programming experience to automate activities (python, Ansible, Shell Scripting, git)
- At least 5 years of experience in an enterprise environment, more specific in high-end Unix and Linux production environments
- Experience in the definition, planning, testing and implementation of new services and technologies
- Good troubleshooting and analytical skills
- General planning and project management skills and experience.
- Technically Proactive, strong Communication & negotiation skills, mediator.
