SOFTWARE ENGINEER FOR EMBEDDED SOFTWARE PROJECTS needed for a LONG TERM CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY with Yoh's client located in San Jose, CA.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS SHOULD YOU POSSESS:

- Extensive C programming experience
- Linux LAME (LAME Ain't an MP3 Encoder) development experience

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- PERFORM SOURCE CODE MERGING AND INTEGRATING OF COMMON CODE
- DESIGN AND DEVELOP PLATFORM AND INFRASTRUCTURE SOFTWARE FOR CHASSIS-BASED SYSTEMS
- Write SOFTWARE DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS with system architecture view and OBJECT ORIENTED METHODS
- Source code/Branch Management work after Build/Release
- Check in/Check out
- Fix bugs
- The engineer will design and build software for a next-generation, high-density, high availability Cable platform that supports advanced Video, Internet data and voice applications.
- The engineer will have opportunities to contribute in various technology areas including Platform Software, Linux-based Software Infrastructure, Multi-core processor, and High Availability.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Five to ten (5-10) years of experience
- Extensive ' C" programming experience in EMBEDDED SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT
- LAYER 2-4 CODE NETWORK PROTOCOL DEVELOPMENT
- LINUX LAME (LAME AIN'T AN MP3 ENCODER) DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE
- Scripting in Phyton
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work as part of a distributed team
