For our client in Amsterdam we are looking for an experienced (mid-senior) Ops engineer for a DevOps team who delivers experiment solutions for all applications.

For our browser platform building block team we are looking for an experienced Ops engineer. As an operations engineer you work in all-round DevOps teams with Developers, Operations and Product Owner to deliver and operate experiment applications/services.

As an Ops Engineer, you strive to automate our monitoring, testing, tuning and capacity management capabilities so the team can see early when things go wrong and are able to act quickly in preventing loss of service; when we have production incidents you perform root cause analysis, contribute to restoring service as fast as possible and learn from the experience in identifying the root-cause of the problem and work actively to prevent the problem from occurring again. You continuously improve the automation of our road to production and the automation of operational activities, such as setting up predictive monitoring patterns.

Profile (skills & experience) Linux Beheerder (QR3536)
- Minimal a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or comparable
- Experience in implementing monitoring procedures and systems.
- Strong knowledge of Linux with the ability to install, configure, analyze, maintain, optimize, troubleshoot, and manage the - security of - operating systems, middleware and networks
- Experience working within network architecture including VPNs, load balancers, firewalls, switches, and routers
- Experience in operating database management systems (such as Oracle, Cassandra)
- Strong analytical, problem solving skills

Preferred skills Linux Beheerder (QR3536)
- Experience in Docker, Graphite, LogStash, Grafana, Gatling, Nagios, Nolio, build server, Jenkins & Sonar
- Experience in operating middleware such as Tomcat, TIBCO Enterprise Bus, JVMs
- Solid experience in the automation of operational processes using a Continuous Delivery Pipeline
- Strong experience in application maintenance, REST and the architecture of the web.
- Experience in designing and engineering highly available, reliable, and scalable infrastructures
- Disciplined and accurate. Setting high quality standards for own work and that of others.
- Never satisfied with a achieved level, continuously looking for improvements and innovations.
- Willing to work in standby shifts outside regular office hours.
