Linux Administrator with Windows - 6-9 months contract - West Yorkshire - Linux/Windows/DNS/TCP/IP

DUE TO AN INCREASE IN PROJECTS WE ARE URGENTLY RECRUITING FOR ADDITIONAL RESOURCES AND REQUIRE AN EXPERIENCED INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER UNTIL AT LEAST THE END OF THIS YEAR WITH WORK POSSIBLY GOING INTO 2016!

KEY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED IS AS FOLLOWS:

- Ideally 5+ years knowledge of working with both Linux and Windows, Linux is essential!
- Knowledge of naming scemes, particularly Active Directory and DNS
- Experience of 2nd and 3rd level support for IT systems
- General understanding of networks
- Vendor Management experience essential - the successful applicant may at time act as intermediary between multiple vendors working to ensure smooth running of both support and procurement activities
- Excellent knowledge of backup, data replication and DR strategies.
- Required technical skills: Linux (RHEL and/or SUSE), Windows Server, TCP/IP Networking
- Advantageous technical skills: Z/OS. Oracle, F5 BigIP, WebSphere Application Server, Java, Scripting (Unix Shell or Python), security cleared, ITIL, Microsoft Cloud, Solaris and/or AIX
- Experience of Hadoop is highly desirable and would ad value.

You will work closely with an existing permanent engineer and with an IT Service provider helping to deliver projects therefore working on multiple projects over the duration of this contract.
