Linux Administrator/DevOps - Linux, Shell, Perl, Python, VMware, ITIL, DNS, APIs, OS Management, ITSM Tools is required by my client who is based in Hounslow, Middlesex. The ideal candidate must either have current SC Clearance or be willing to go through the process to gain it.

Technical Skills and Qualifications:

Educational Qualifications:

- GCSE Maths and English
- Degree desirable

Professional Qualifications:

- RHCT/RHCE or equivalent
- CCNA or equivalent desirable
- ITIL v3 Foundation desirable

Technical Expertise:

- Linux configuration and administration
- Scripting (Shell/Perl/Python)
- Clustering/High Availability
- ESX/VMware
- Network configuration, IP Addressing and routing
- Network monitoring & management via SNMP
- Good knowledge of ITIL v3
- Experience of OS Management tools eg HP, SA
- Experience with ITSM tools (ticketing/CMDB)
- Integration - web services, APIs
- Good knowledge of DNS
- Technical knowledge of configuring and diagnosing network, storage and OS monitoring and management tools in an enterprise environment.

Responsibilities:

- Provide support to Tools Manager in the implementation of Cloud project with a dedicated toolset.
- Contribute to design decisions around architecture underpinning device management and monitoring, authentication, DNS, ITSM ticketing, etc.
- Assist with design and build of resilience (including clustering) of management tools.
- Work on solutions to link tools using web services/API to ensure, for example, enrichment of monitoring events with CMDB data
- Work with solutions architect to ensure robust management of complex Cloud environment
- Work with network architect to build multi-site solution where toolset traffic is passed efficiently between various secure cells
- Build, test and support live implementation of toolset systems
- Provide input to decisions around functionality and resilience in conjunction with Head of Tools of Automation
- Contribute to regular architecture reviews and other meetings and provide cover for Head of Tools of Automation
