Linux Administrator

Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a Linux Administrator

Key Requirements:

- Knowledge and experience with Technical Application Management.
- Knowledge and experience with working with Scrum/agile.
- Knowledge of network technology (proxies/Firewalls) Opensource General.
- Advanced knowledge of Linux Servers, preferably RHEL (Red hat), bash command line, bash Shell Scripting.
- Good knowledge of Tomcat configuration.
- Knowledge and experience with Apache configuration, among other things, forwarding, rewrite rules.
- Knowledge and experience with configuring/debugging web applications, JavaScript (Firebug/Developer tools), PHP, python (Scripting), Java (standard edition).

Nice to Have:

- Knowledge of containers/virtualisation - Cloud Foundry, Docker, Vagrant (pre-sorting for the future), Affinity with Geo/GIS.
- Knowledge of OGC protocols - WMS/WFS/WCS, CSW/CAT.
- GeoServer and/or GeoNetwork.
- Knowledge and experience with application management.
- Geodatabases: familiarity with Oracle (Spatial) or PostGreSQL (PostGIS).
