Linux Administrator

We are looking for a Linux Administrator in CA, details:

LOCATION: Huntington Beach

Duration: 6 months to 1 year

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Provide system administration support for a HPC Linux 700 Node Cluster. The Cluster supports CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) in a Lab environment.

Tasks will include:
1) Hardware diagnosis and troubleshooting; coordinating/logging calls with vendors and testing repairs.
2) Moab/Torque queuing system resource management support which includes troubleshooting user issues.
3) Operating system support maintenance including assistance for users with OS related problems.
4) Monitor and collect metrics for system and storage utilization with weekly report outs.
5) Data Backups (Daily Incremental, Fulls, and Off sites for DR).
6) Maintain server hardening requirements - implement fixes and changes as a result of VA scan/DCIS findings.
7) Maintaining the Workstation loads with upgrades, update/security patches, and library installs.
8) Maintain and troubleshoot Cluster Management tools.
9) Maintain and keep cluster clone images current.
10) Document OS changes in Cluster Wiki.
11) Administration support for 48 Suse Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) Workstations.
12) Building and testing loads for new Workstation hardware.
13) Installing Windows 7 VM's on VMware Player in a Linux environment

OTHER JOB RELATED INFORMATION:

Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years Linux experience. Preferred candidate will have experience with HPC including use of job schedulers, Suse Linux Enterprise Server, EMC Networker, Panasas Storage, Hewlett Packard X86 server hardware and HP ILO. Candidate must be proficient in working with Windows 7 in a virtual environment.
