SITE RELIABILITY ASSOCIATE ENGINEER

PE Global requires a Site Reliability Associate Engineer from a strong Linux background on a contract basis for one of our clients based in Dublin. This is daily/hourly rate contract position and is for 6 month initially.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working within the Site Reliability Team as an Associate Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for working on and executing the runlist that moves the data and metadata for a specific customers between production instances. Perform post runlist analysis, identify trends, and help to determine/implement corrective action. Help to identify problem issues and help to drive improvements in the process.
Provide support to the new product developments and help the team to test
Participate in the continuous improvement process and support continuous improvement initiatives.

DESIRED SKILLS:

- Highly motivated, self-starter with a positive attitude and strong initiative to face the challenges of a very fast-paced, high-energy, sometimes stressful, customer-focused operations organization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to remain composed and professional in stressful, high pressure situations.
- Experience with Splunk and other log analysis tool is a plus.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as nagios and cacti
- Operating Systems (Linux).
- Web/Application Servers (Tomcat, JAVA).
- Databases (MySQL, Oracle).
- UNIX Shell/Perl Scripting capabilities are highly desirable.
