We are looking for LINUX ADMINISTRATOR for an urgent opening with one of our esteemed clients.
LINUX ADMINISTRATOR
LOCATION: VILNIUS, LITHUANIA
Duration: 6 months Contract
PROJECT OVERVIEW AND REASONS FOR RECRUITING:
The bCloud project is adding significant new features to Retail Online Bank and requires number of Linux systems to be built and configured.
This requirement is to ensure that the bCloud project objectives are met for its roll-out of tactical and strategic environments.
The requirement will be working within the x86 UNIX Support team providing 2nd and 3rd level fault diagnosis and fault resolution as well as build out of new infrastructure for bCloud or others projects.
ROLE
Be part of Distributed Technologies - UNIX EMEA
Provide Production Unix Support to all business areas within the Barclays Group and also undertake project implementations
Key Skills and Responsibilities:
Essential
- Fluent (Read/Write/Speak) in English
- Production Unix Support will include the below responsibilities
- Managing change and incident tickets
- Looking at performance related issues
- OS Patching
- Problem solving
- Cluster installation and configuration
- Proactive maintenance
- Audit/security resolution
- Proactive capacity management/performance issues
- Project implementations
- Excellent understanding of the Linux operating system (preferably Redhat Enterprise Linux)
- Good understanding of TCP/IP Network architecture
- Good understanding of DNS, NTP, DHCP
- Good understanding of Clustering and HA concepts
- Excellent understanding of Veritas VM, FS, VCS
- Understanding of ITIL best practices for Incident, Problem, Change process
- Good Shell Scripting knowledge (bash/ksh)
- Understanding of Perl
DESIRABLE
Previous Banking experience
Experience in an Enterprise Environment
ITIL accreditations.
