LIMS CONSULTANT (PATHOLOGY - NHS)

LIMS Consultant (Pathology - NHS) is urgently required for a long contract in the UK, Ireland and Malta.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. To investigate/support all queries, issues and change requests raised by the deployment projects, peers, project managers and other workstreams re: solution questions, business process maps, system configuration, business validation scripts, and product knowledge materials.
2. Engage in all stages of the deployment project and ensure the client and the deployment project teams are kept best informed, are fully trained and equipped to implement our solution offerings by supporting appropriate solution workshops and training sessions.
3. Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to our clients and deployment project teams when product questions, issues, or changes are raised/escalated:
4. Proactively participate in all relevant knowledge sharing sessions for their respective SME areas
5. Proactively investigate and contribute to all product workshops and collaboration sessions
6. Required to review high-level, functional, or detail designs for upcoming changes to the product
7. Write/update relevant knowledge materials to ensure peers have up-to-date knowledge on the solution for all queries, issues, changes raised
8. Required to provide on-site support and SME to clients and deployment project teams as per our standard deployment methodology
9. Input into/review collateral that supports the deployment projects (eg Training Materials and good practice Business Process Maps) pertaining your area of expertise (SME group)
10. Updating all key collateral in support of (Train-the-Trainer (TTT), Good Practice Business Process Maps (BPM), Generic Business Process Validation scripts (BPV), Lessons Learned, Best Practices, SME group product materials, Tools, etc) to ensure they are kept up-to-date and consistent across all offerings;
11. Proactively participating, owning, contributing to the upkeep of all key collateral used to support the deployment projects - eg TTT, BPM's, BPV's, OBS responses, solution demos and presentations etc
12. Promoting best practices - good practice deployment tips/practices or internal operational processes - documenting, communicating and sharing to relevant audiences
13. Ensuring that relevant SME group materials are up-to-date and communicated in a timely fashion supporting effective knowledge collaboration and sharing
14. Contributing to and participating in internal investigations, discussions, dialogues/blogs on C3 discussions
15. Embracing all the tools available in performing investigations/sharing knowledge such as Sametime, Webex and Conferencing Facilities etc
16. Configuring, validating and supporting all environments used for demonstrations and training/workshops
17. Support the internal configuration and validation of deployment/training environments to be used for demo, training and/or workshop purposes
18. Assist our clients and deployment project teams in their setup and configuration of local deployment environments by imparting knowledge and empowering them to lead by example.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
* Has a sound knowledge of Pathology
* Strong background in at least one Pathology discipline
* Has a minimum of 5 years previous LIMS systems implementation/deployment experience.
* Works on multiple, complex tasks and projects to conclusion, with an understanding and application of a broad knowledge of common principles, good practices and procedures in specialised areas.
* Adapts information to audience; explains difficult issues clearly, establishes consensus, attains agreement
* Acts as a liaison between clients and company; provides insight and advice to clients concerning the scope, of the solution offerings and high level benefits to be achieved.
* Interprets the client's needs, assessing the full requirements whilst identifying good practices and any opportunities to realize real benefits.
* Is aware of internal and external business issues and best practice in own discipline; applies to own role.
* Shares own expertise with others; provides guidance and support to others.
* Strong communication skills working effectively with people at all levels with the ability to manage expectations effectively.
* Willingness to travel - this is a mobile role which may require long distance travel, hotel stays for long periods of time Dependent on the assignment location and skills required.

OTHER DESIRABLE SKILLS
* Training and education - is familiar with the setup and configuration of healthcare systems and is capable of effective knowledge transfer and training to high standards. An appropriate training qualification is desirable.
* Makes good decisions (without considering how much time it takes) based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment. Most of his/her solutions and suggestions turn out to be correct and accurate when judged over time. Sought out by others for advice and solutions.
* Practices attentive and active listening. Has the patience to hear people out. Can accurately restate the opinions of others even when he/she disagrees.
* Communication skills - is able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles. Can get messages across that have the desired effect with management, colleagues and clients alike.
* Organisation - has the necessary skills to balance and prioritizes work effectively and has the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Experience in a Transfusion Centre or a hospital blood bank is desirable.
* FIBMS or equivalent membership

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Bachelor's degree in software engineering, information systems, computer science, or related field preferred.
* Two or more years of experience in software development, technical support, or consulting.
* Experience working with technical products, vendors, and families of technologies.
* Experience working with the product development life cycle and business processes.
* Experience working with client business and technological requirements and company products/services.
* Experience working with technology architecture, mainframes, scheduling software etc.
* Experience working with programming design/concepts, coding languages, development tools, processes, approaches and/or techniques.
