Lift Engineer

A Lift Engineer is required to join an independent lift company working throughout the UK.

Your primary objective will be to carry out regular routine maintenance on commercial/residential lifts to a pre-planned schedule. The service route is from Berwick-upon-Tweed, through south Lakes and into Lincolnshire, (ideal base - Leeds). Additionally the job role may include small repairs to lifts as directed.

The role requires the engineer to be 'On-Call' and available to respond to breakdowns/call-outs during regular hours and out-of-hours, respond to requests from the office for information/data necessary to fulfil role and visits to customers/lifts/sites as directed and in accordance with workload.

Key Responsibilities:

- Carry out regular routine maintenance on commercial/residential lifts to a pre-planned schedule.
- Carry out repairs to lifts, as directed
- Be 'On-Call' and available to respond to breakdowns/call-outs during regular hours and Out-of-Hours
- Respond to requests from the Office for information/data necessary to fulfil role
- Visit customers/lifts/sites as directed and in accordance with workload.
- Responsible at all times for Health and Safety and in line with BS7255:2012 Code of Practice for Safe Working on Lifts.

Skills and Experience:

- Experience of attending call outs and carrying out large/small repairs
- Have studied recognised lift qualification e.g. NVQ level 3 (minimum)
- Able to keep focussed on deadlines and to ensure any risks of slippage are identified at the earliest opportunity
- Able to present and report information accurately
- Able to carry out planned preventative maintenance
- Ability to carry out repairs and modernisation of lifts
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively and give advice on technical issues to customers, managers and executives
