Life Tax Advisor

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Life Tax Adviser to work for a large Insurance client of ours in York on a fixed term contract for 9 months working two days per week.

The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation and HMRC practice, Accounting and/or taxation qualification (ICA, ACCA, ACMA, CIOT) would be beneficial and the ability to understand impact of new UK corporate tax developments and disseminate effectively

Accountabilities:
- Completion of tax provisions and disclosures for non-life insurance companies and supporting this for life companies
- Working on aspects of UK corporation tax compliance for non-life insurance companies
- Supporting the tax compliance, reporting and advisory deliverables of the UK Tax function as required
- Providing tax advice to UK business units in relation to transactions and ad hoc queries within the business frame work
- Contributing to the management of Tax Risk for the companies.
- Ensuring optimum tax efficiency for the companies where possible in the light of group considerations

Essential Skills/Experience:
- Good knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation and HMRC practice
- Accounting and/or taxation qualification (ICA, ACCA, ACMA, CIOT)
- Ability to understand impacts of new UK corporate tax developments and disseminate effectively
- Ability to identify, interpret and communicate key risk issues to non-specialists
- Prior experience of UK corporate tax compliance and undertaking IFRS tax reporting either in UK industry (preferably financial services) and/or a big/medium size accounting firm
