Legal Counsel/Legal Advisor/Legal Consultant - London - Contract

A recently established Clearing House, based in London, is searching for the ideal Legal Counsel candidate to join their legal team and assist on all legal and regulatory matters relating to the clearing activities. The role is a contract positon.

This role sits in a team of 3 lawyers and a Compliance Manager, and will give the candidate an opportunity to assist the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer whilst being supervised by the Senior Lawyer. Therefore the ideal candidate will have fantastic interpersonal skills.

On a day to day basis, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice, analysis and support to various stakeholders throughout the organisation. This will include the liaison with key staff member in the operations and risk.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Providing legal advice, analysis and support to the business at all levels
- Act as an interpreter for legal documents for the operations and risk teams
- Review foreign law relating to the organisation
- Prepare regular reports for the Bank of England

REQUIREMENTS

- Solicitor admitted in England and Wales/Qualified solicitor with PQE or equivalent.
- Experience in clearing and or commodities
- Experience with the UK regulatory environment from the financial services; knowledge of FSMA and or EMIR
