LEGAL COUNSEL AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER - LLOYDS OF LONDON INSURANCE MARKET

My prestigious insurance client is looking to recruit a Legal Counsel and Compliance Manager for their Legal/Compliance team. This is a fast paced environment and we are looking for someone who can challenge the status quo. You must have all of the below.

LEGAL COUNSEL AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER - LLOYDS OF LONDON INSURANCE MARKET

Lloyd's minimum standards

AML/MLRO

Conduct Risk

Must be able to implement, focus and develop in these areas with a high level of technical understanding

Experience of working with and managing FCA/OPRA - ideally as an approved person and have insurance business relationships with them, ie be a known person.

Contract management, wordings, 3rd party - from a contract review perspective not performance

Company secretarial experience - including board meetings arranging, minutes et al and supporting the committees regarding organising etc.

LEGAL COUNSEL AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER - LLOYDS OF LONDON INSURANCE MARKET

ROLE:

Manage the Legal, Regulatory and Compliance function on a day-to-day basis for PSMAL and its syndicate, Syndicate 1110 as well as the service company PSUL

To ensure that the Compliance framework remains current, effective and suitable for the risk profile of the business, ensuring compliance with all regulatory obligations and overseeing that there is sound and robust corporate governance in operation throughout the organisation.

LEGAL COUNSEL AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER - LLOYDS OF LONDON INSURANCE MARKET

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Provide support and advice regarding legal matters including corporate, contract, financing and contentious and pre-contentious matters.

Compliance & Regulatory

Act as the principle contact for regulatory issues between the Managing Agent and the PRA, Lloyd's, and other regulators, market associations and the corporate parent, facilitating their review of the business and ensuring appropriate and effective communication is in place.

Complaints and TCF Management

Export Control order and sanctions compliance

Territorial licensing

Financial Crime compliance, including money laundering and the Bribery Act

Provide advice and coaching to management and business units on governance procedures.

Communication and verifying compliance with internal and external requirements, including all relevant regulations

TOBA's and broker approval process

Legal

Commercial drafting, corporate, employment and litigation (corporate and claims)

SKILLS:

First class people skills and a team player with excellent communication.

Competency to become FSA approved.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Strong negotiation skills, including conflict resolution

Strong drafting skills for corporate and insurance and reinsurance agreements.

Strong Knowledge of Board and corporate governance matters.

Understanding of and compliance with FCA, PRA and Lloyd's regulations

Qualifications:

First class people skills and a team player with excellent communication.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 5 years insurance experience, preferably within the Lloyd's environment.

Detailed knowledge of corporate governance and a desire to deliver on detailed individual tasks.
