Legal Counsel

I am recruiting for a Legal Counsel to work for my client based in Buckinghamshire.

As a Legal Counsel you will be reporting to and supporting Senior Legal Counsel on all aspects of the various programmes that the company are currently running ensuring that all programmes are delivered to target and budget and that reliable commercial legal advice is provided on a variety of subjects.

The role has a strong focus on supporting internal and external surveyors and property teams together with the management of external lawyers ensuring that they deliver to agreed standards and within defined timescales and to budget.

You will also be required to deal with and manage a range of legal disputes/issues and litigation with Site Providers and other third parties and to show a clear aptitude to mitigate risks and make swift and efficient commercial decisions.

You will also be required to have strong drafting skills and a demonstrated ability to negotiate resolutions and agreements including new leases or licences, surrender and re-grants, licences to assign, deeds of assignment, deeds of variation or surrender.

You'll definitely need to be a qualified solicitor with experience in commercial property/telecoms.

Extensive proven experience in commercial property in a major law firm or blue chip company is required.

Experience of telecoms and network rollout activities is essential and negotiating other commercial contracts would be an advantage. You will need to be able to give advice on all aspects of the Telecommunications Act 1984 and the Communications Act 2003 with particular emphasis on the implications of each in connection with the companies current programmes. You will need to be able to cope with an extensive and challenging workload while balancing occasionally conflicting priorities.
