Projektbeschreibung

The Leave Counselor is responsible for the confidential intake and management of Leaves of Absence and disability claims. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring accurate and timely pay and status updates, case documentation, regulatory compliance on Federal and State leaves, notifications and communications to appropriate parties (HR Data Group, Payroll, site medical contacts, supervisors, HR Managers, employee, etc).

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Provide exemplary customer service to employees, supervisors, HR etc. Intake and documentation of disability and FML leaves (telephonic) in the Case Management System. Ensure system triggers, notifications, communications and diaries are documented. Determine eligibility and appropriate benefits. Utilize clinical duration management tool and refer for clinical review, determination as appropriate. Timely and accurate notification to the Data Group and Payroll to ensure appropriate pay, status and benefits. Facilitate return to work with employee, site medical contact, supervisor and HR.

SKILLS:

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: Previous Customer Service/Claim experience in Leave of absence, Disability Management and Benefits Administration. Broad understanding of various leave types, with a focus on state and federal FML, FLA, ADA, short (maternity) disability and their effect on other benefits and the downstream impacts. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and interact with employees at all levels within the organization and medical professionals. Self-motivated with excellent listening skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Experience in leave management, disability claims and benefits administration. Demonstrated ability to handle and maintain confidential and sensitive information. Timely and accurate processing of FML and statutory leaves and disability claims. Excellent organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to set priorities and exercise sound judgments. Demonstrated ability to learn new procedures and process quickly and work independently to solve problems. Demonstrated ability to understand processes, systems and the downstream impact of data. BS/BA Degree or equivalent training and experience.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: CDMS (Certified Disability Management Specialist) CCM (Certified Case Manager) CPDM (Certified Professional Disability Management)
