Our client is a leading RSL who are looking to recruit a Leasehold Officer on a temp to perm basis.

The main purpose of the role is to provide a high quality and prompt leasehold management service to the RSL's customers. You will offer advice and support to customers, assisting them to access all of the RSL's leasehold services and to ensure lease conditions are enforced.

The key responsibilities are as follows:

-Full responsibility for income collection and monitoring service charge and major works service charge arrears cases, giving advice and taking appropriate action regarding the recovery of arrears, including the preparation of court papers
-Responding to correspondence from leaseholders, solicitors, mortgage providers and third party agencies
-To develop, access, keep and maintain accurate case records, both manual and computerised, providing case monitoring information as required.
-Collate and verify financial information in order to issue accurate service charges for the PFI leaseholders.
-To annually review the service charges. Checking the end of year service charge accounts and sending these out to residents.
-Deal with service charge disputes including preparing reports for arbitration, mediation and Leasehold Valuation Tribunals.
-Deal with all requests for permissions, and Deeds of Variation.
-Ensure the landlord and tenant complies with the terms, conditions and covenants of the lease.
-Maintain a professional knowledge of current leasehold and service charge legislation, guidance and best practice.
-To ensure all statutory requirements relating to leasehold property management are met.
-Processing Right to Buy applications as required by the PFI contract.
-Carrying out statutory consultation process as required by the Leasehold and Tenant Act 1985 as amended by the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002.
-Experience of Section 20 consultation of Major Works
-Experience of Major Works Billing.
-Full responsibility for dealing with the assignment process including enquiries and liaising with solicitors and relevant parties
-Full responsibility for producing all invoices, and ensuring they are correctly coded to the relevant scheme for accurate budget monitoring.

This role will be reviewed after 3 months with the potential for the role to be made permanent at that time.
