My client has an urgent requirement for Lean Six Sigma Black Belt for a contract role in Slough

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is expected to use the Lean Six Sigma methodology to improve processes with a view to provide the client with measurable bottom line Benefits. The consultant may work on pre identified engagement to provide expertise or work through the entire project life cycle. The consultant will be part of a bigger team of consultants and will need to collaborate with the team as well as the client team.

TASKS - RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Responsibilities:

(These are indicative and we expect the consultant to be flexible to decide and use the tasks mentioned below as per the customer need and problem statement.

Define

1. Gather Customer Voices' by conducting stakeholder interviews

2. Study new platform

3. Create high level SIPOC

4. Prioritize areas to measure

5. Develop project charter

6. Analyse changes arising from new platform

7. Develop project plan Measure

Conduct As-Is' Value Stream Analysis

Determine Critical to Quality elements

Conduct Focus Area Analysis

Conduct detailed Voice of the Customer interviews

Establish hypotheses Analyze

Validate existing Root Causes

Develop Business Case to support solutions analyses

Conduct additional Root Cause Analyses

Develop To-Be' Value Stream Maps

Develop detailed implementation plans

EXPERIENCe - EXPOSURE

CRITICAL

Advanced problem-solving and analysis skills

o Identify and structure issues, and gather required data

o Accurately analyse and present data and synthesize recommendations

o Highly proficient in MS-Excel or Minitab

- Strong delivery and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to manage (virtual) teams with an open mind - including active listening skills and ability to handle and resolve team tensions
- Good communications and information sharing skills across all levels

o Presenting/co-presenting in person back to groups of key stakeholders

o Written communications - especially in project packs and status updates

o Proficient with producing high-quality documents in MS Word and PowerPoint

- Self-sufficient/driven/motivated - able to work with limited direction in a fast paced environment
- Reliable plan management discipline - building plans or task lists with clear deliverables, owners, and timescales; then regularly checking activities against plans/commitments - and escalating where needed
- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma/Process Engineering Tools & Methods. Preferably a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

DESIRABLE (A STRONG CANDIDATE WOULD ALSO BE ABLE TO SHOW EVIDENCE OF THESE)

- Facilitate workshops and lead working groups
- Expertise in Banking or financial services sector
- Keen interest in technology innovation
- Track record of transferring process engineering skills and tools to junior colleagues

EDUCATION - CERTIFICATION (RECOMMENDED)

- Degree level (or equivalent experience) - preferably in a subject related to: Finance, Business, Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Senior Green Belt
