LEAKAGE STRATEGY ENGINEER

SALARY DEPENDANT ON EXPERIENCE • CLAVERTON DOWN, BATH • 40 HOURS PER WEEK, 2 YEARS FIXED TERM • DEFINED CONTRIBUTION PENSION SCHEME.

The Regulations and Customer Services Department are looking for someone to identify the most cost beneficial strategy to meet our long term plan to reduce leakage to the lowest possible level whilst keeping customers' bills affordable.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Delivery of a business plan objective relating to future leakage management options
• Responsible for the quantitative assessment of a large number of these options. This will involve defining each option and estimating the yield and costs based on detailed modelling approach
• Delivering a cost-benefit analysis taking into account the varying levels of risks and uncertainties inherent in each option
• Identifying a short list of options to be developed in more detail for presentation in our 2019 Water Resources Management Plan and 2019 Business Plan.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• At least 10 years' experience of leakage management practice and policy in the UK water industry
• Experience in undertaking cost benefit analysis of leakage reduction options
• Experience of the valuation of environmental and less tangible costs and benefits and the calculation of AISCs (Average Incremental Social Costs)
• Advanced IT skills including Excel based data analysis and modelling
• Excellent communication skills including report writing, presentations and relationship building
• High standards of numeracy, attention to detail and organisational abilities
• Good strategic planning experience
• Strong project management experience
• A degree in relevant scientific or technical subject
• Clean driving licence.
