Lead Technical Safety Engineer

I have a new position working in Dyce in Aberdeen with a leading global oil services company. The business focus is on building on the dedicated team players within the organisation by acquiring a new engineer who enjoy a challenge. The client is seeking a Lead Technical Safety Engineer to commence work on a Major project which they have recently won. The contract length is 18 months and your key tasks in this position would be to plan the workload for the group as well as prepare CTRs and man-hour estimates via the Management System. To be considered for this position you should have at least 5 years Oil and Gas experience in the UK looking at Technical Safety. This is a lead position meaning part of your responsibility will be to offer advise and assistance to less qualified engineers. The perfect candidate for this role will have shown commitment in similar length contracts previously and could offer at least 10 years experience in this niche area. Ideally you will also have experience organising and chairing HAZOP, HAZID and SIL reviews. In this role you would be asked to ensure work is completed on schedule and within budget as well as to maintain project deliverables are generated via the Management system. You will liaising with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication and commissioning issues and be asked to prepare engineering concepts and issue into detail design. You will be required to prepare engineering concepts into detail design as well as to answer site and client queries and take responsibility for reviewing and advise on client safety case. Further to this the position would look for someone to develop into areas such as to manage manual and computer analyses for firewater hydraulic analysis, dispersion modelling, explosion over-pressure, escape / evacuation. This may be something you haven't done before and could be an area of development for you!
