Lead Stress Engineer - £60K+

Projektbeschreibung

ROLE PURPOSE: To provide technical leadership to project stress teams, performing, approving and controlling relevant stress work, to meet customer and project requirements (both technical and programme) for civil and military aerospace applications To work in cooperation with the other functional of the company areas (Design, Manufacturing, Quality & IT) to achieve local and overall business objectives To liaise with the customer, translating requirements and supporting the project team in defining and agreeing methods and processes, communicating technical stress issues, solutions and opportunities through all development and production phases of the project lifecycle KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: From a technical perspective the lead stress engineer is responsible for the quality and compliance of the design to all structural requirements (internal, Customer driven and airworthiness specifications) of the program. Including: Approving technical solutions including detail parts, manufacturing and assembly drawings and DMU release internally and to customers Developing and working to and/or customer stress methodologies (guidelines, policies etc) Managing and delivering all the stress requirements, including loads, methods, material and tools register and stress data configuration to support BOM, product structure and Weight book From an operational perspective the Lead Stress Engineer is responsible for technical leadership of the analysis function on the programme and delivery of the engineering work packages to meet all cost and schedule requirements efficiently. Including: Setting stress plans to meet all deliverables within the programme, including proactive management of offshore engineering Managing the local stress team's resourcing, tasking and performance in line with programme requirements Providing engineering input to technical, commercial and contract reviews within the company and with customers. Providing the key analysis representation at all internal quality gate reviews Ensuring that all project stakeholders have the right information at the right time, through pro-active communication Supporting the Engineering European Team, via the Head of Analysis - Europe as part of the continuous improvement plan and "Lean" initiatives to develop improved operating processes and procedures including: Identifying training and development needs to ensure current and future skill requirements are met and addressed through coaching, on the job training and making recommendations for formal training Identifying gaps or opportunities through appropriate systems and support development of knowledge base and tools to improve design efficiency and capability To supplement the capabilities and capacity of the stress office by identifying work packages suitable for off-load to external suppliers For the right candidate an excellent salary package with benefits is on offer along with a chance to take a lead in a growing company.
