Lead Software Engineer

Provides lead role for day-to-day functional tasks within the team. Also provides developer support and maintenance of the development environment. Uses tools, languages, coding standards and best practices to develop new product features and maintain year over year product functionality and enhancements. Creates and executes unit tests and addresses defects. Works closely with Quality Assurance and other related teams to ensure consistent understanding of requirements and approach. In addition, assists in planning and implementation of a strategic direction for the product.

SKILLS:

- 5 - 8 years of developing flexible, scalable, and highly available software in Java
- An understanding of XML, including name spaces and schemas
- An understanding of secure development practices for web applications.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor other team members within any of these technologies
- End to End development experience - Front End through Back End
- Problem solver
- Spring 2.5 (with annotations) and Spring-WS
- Subversion, CVS, or comparable version control systems
- Performance tuning within Java and MS SQL and/or Oracle PL/SQL
- Experience with ASP, .net, JSP, PHP
- Experience with web and application Servers (iPlanet, Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, IIS, etc)
- Fluent in both Windows and Unix environments
- Working knowledge of social networking (Web 2.0+)
- Ability to troubleshoot one-off issues with applications in multiple OS environments.
- Working level knowledge of DNS, URLs, redirects, and related operations.
