Role: Lead Research Analyst
Type: Contract
Location: London
Rate: £350-£400 per day
Duration: 3 months

You will be a pivotal member of our client's Customer Insight team, a group of social research and insight specialists who are committed to helping policy colleagues deliver better policies through deeper understanding of people, organisations and communities.

You will have specific responsibility for developing and utilising the evidence base on covering behaviour across businesses and other sectors. This will include developing an evaluation strategy for the implementation of audits; as well as providing specialist social research support to a number of other large scale evidence projects.

You will be a proven expert who is able to design,deliver and interpret clearly high quality analytical outputs to support important policy development.

You will be a self-starter with a track-record of delivery and an expertise in a broad range of social research methods and their application to improve policy and delivery outcomes.

They will be responsible for:

*Informing and influencing policy colleagues' strategic thinking, planning and decision making by delivering incisive and focused understanding of customer needs, behaviours and motives;
*Harvesting and synthesising emerging government and external evidence and distilling the key findings in engaging ways to inform and influence policy thinking;
*Developing and maintaining close working relationships with policy and analytical colleagues across the Department, other departments, and where relevant academia and industry;
*Ensuring that research products have maximum impact and meet the needs of different audiences
*Strategic understanding of where best to apply analytical resources to support policy development and decision making
*Ability to prioritise analysis, and consider short, medium and longer-term research needs
*Experience of maximising the impact of research and analysis on policy
*Experience of developing and delivering social research in a complex organisation with many different audience groups, and in a sensitive and politically driven environment
*Defines and redefines the problem; considers alternative options; looks beyond immediate problem to spot trends and links
*Uses innovative research methods and analytical techniques to deliver results to complex questions
*Ability to work under pressure and deliver work to tight time-frames, personally and through others
*Strong track record of managing external contractors in a research or closely environment
