Lead QA Engineer

I am currently looking for a Nuclear QA Engineer for a long term contract based in Scotland.

Project(s) Overview:

Ensure Projects Division activities comply with relevant procedures and Station QA requirements, including:

1.1. Monitoring compliance of site activities with written requirements.

1.2. Reporting and advising on work observations.

1.3. Carrying out surveillance and inspection visits to manufacturers and sub-contractors on or off site as required.

1.4. Carrying out reviews of Contractor plans, policies and procedures.

1.5. Reviewing, commenting on and assisting with the mark-up of quality plans, quality programmes and Project Definition Documents, as part of processes.

1.6. Conversant with station procedures and ensuring station QA requirements are met.

1.7. Act as team champion for Quality Assurance, by:

a. Being first point of contact with Station QA Group

b. Ensuring the Site activities comply with Corporate Quality standards and procedures

c. Act as first point of contact for all Site Quality Plans

d. Assisting Project Managers in setting up and maintaining quality management processes

e. Providing advice for production of Project Quality Plans and programmes

1.8. Maintaining awareness of relevant site procedures, and disseminating information on requirements, changes and updates by establishing and maintaining links with the central QA Steering Group.

Underpinning Knowledge

2.4. Auditing and surveillance of client or contractor activities.

2.5. Working knowledge of Quality Management practices, methods and processes.

2.6. Working knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines including ISO9000.

2.7. Awareness of EFQM model.

2.8. Preferably, a working knowledge of IAEA GS-R-3, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001.

Qualification and Experience

3.1. Attained HNC or equivalent.

3.2. Trained in ISO9001.

1.1. Suitable experience within the Quality Assurance / Quality Control, ideally, within the Nuclear industry.

1.2. Preferred: formal Lead Auditor Qualification.
