ROLE - LEAD PROPOSAL MANAGER/LEAD BID MANAGER

SKILLS - SALES, TENDER, BID, PROPOSAL

JOB SUMMARY

Manage the proposal response creation process from initial bid meeting through to result and feedback.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

TENDER EVALUATION, CREATION AND SUBMISSION - 70%

- Lead in the evaluation and understanding of current and future client requirements
- Work in conjunction with Sales and/or Relationship Managers to identify key stakeholders, to prepare and manage response timetables and meetings, and to manage stakeholder contributions/submissions to responses
- Lead in the preparation of draft responses, and re-drafting/re-formatting stakeholder content and generic templates to fit each specific opportunity
- Commission and maintain branded hard and soft format stationery for the professional presentation of response documentation
- Assume responsibility for the final presentation, format, construction, printing and secure distribution of documentation and/or electronic responses.

TENDER RECORDS MAINTENANCE, TRACKING, AND REPORTING - 15%

- Track  response progress, request and evaluate results
- Provide regular and ongoing segmented analysis of proposal activity, bid and no-bid decisions and win/loss ratios with reasons, highlighting our competitive edge and areas for development. As initiated by the Proposal Management Team Manager, share findings with  Strategic  Business Units for consequential management

PLANNING - 15%

- Lead in the development and maintenance of proposal boilerplate material and other content to support submissions
- Recommend, develop, apply and support best practice in proposal creation and submission, following agreed processes and procedures
- Research, recommend and develop proposal management processes, utilising the most appropriate technologies to ensure seamless integration with related functions, driving efficiency and transparency
- Support the creation and maintenance of effective channels of communication with the Sales and Relationship Management teams across Strategic Business Units, and other representatives at all levels, as appropriate
- Build relationships with key stakeholders in the Global Business Solutions Sales, Marketing, Commercial and Product  teams to ensure that Proposal Management is consistently engaged early in both opportunity and proposition development

PERSON SPECIFICATION

- Good time management and organisational skills; be able to prioritise workload and demonstrate track record of achieving deadlines to achieve business goals
- Strong communications skills, comfortable with liaising with individuals at all levels to agree goals and influence decisions
- Experience in the completion of proposals (tender/RFP responses and proactive proposals) and/or experience of bid management processes
- Experience in the development, documentation and communication of proposal management procedures
- Able to deliver under pressure, working on own and as part of a team, and to quality standards; attention to detail is critical in this role
- Creative flair to contribute significantly to the development of attractive and compelling documentation that fully articulates the proposition and meets client requirements
- Good presentation skills, with the confidence to address groups internally and externally including  engagement with customers and prospects during pre and post tender meetings
- Strong  analytical skills required to develop reporting requirements of role
- Intellectual capacity, commercial knowledge and acumen to provide advice and consulting support to Sales and/or Relationship Managers
