LEAD PROJECT PLANNER- EDINBURGH

A major manufacturing company in Scotland is looking for a Lead Project Planner to join them for a minimum of 6 - 12 months. The main function of this role is to lead a team which plan, monitor, feedback and report to both internal & external customers. Provide interface to Projects and Operations to identify, analyse & action opportunities or potential problems and ensure that Business Systems/Processes and Lean Principles work in Tandem to enable & control progress against plans.

The successful Lead Project Planner will be required to develop and maintain a twelve week look ahead, a six week firm plan and the execution of the plan by identifying material, allocation of budgets and detailed scheduling of Work Orders/Packages. You will also need to support, coach & educate planners and maintain a focus on the customer needs coupled with a desire to remove non value added activities.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

- Experience of material/planning processes
- Sound knowledge of detail planning
- Experience of the product and shipbuilding processes
- Articulate in the translation of engineering information
- Lengthy planning experience
- Very good verbal and written communication skills

DAY TO DAY ROLE:

My client requires the Lead Project Planner to manage and maintain work packages for manufacture/installation. You will be responsible for the efficient planning which optimises facilities, resources and materials to achieve man hour and cost targets. You must also monitor and control of all work in progress using standard reports and maximise use of facilities/resources through effective scheduling.

RATE: £200 - 250 per day

LENGTH: 6 month rolling contract
