LEAD PROJECT MANAGER - LIFE AND PENSIONS - EDINBURGH OR BRISTOL - £356 PER DAY

A leading retail bank in Edinburgh is looking a Lead Project Manager to join a project to document in a consistent format, the processes across Insurance Operations Life Pensions & Investments (LP&I). The following is a summary of the key deliverables from the main workstreams:

PROCESS DOCUMENTATION

- Define and agree process documentation standards for LP&I processes,
- Define the critical business processes for LP&I and process map to defined standards, and
- Develop process management governance around process reviews, changes to maps and sign off Matrix.

WORKFORCE PLANNING

- Identify tracking mechanisms and current usage across each business area, and
- Develop a process to ensure all work in progress, both on PEGA and manual, is recorded, tracked and reported in line with PEGA WIP reports, and
- Implement a clear documented process for dealing with outstanding requirements, and
- Establish and document the role of Operational Control Managers in the redesigned organisation

OUTPUTS

- Agree ownership of specific outputs
- Understand the detail of work already in plan within the Insurance Proposition teams to rectify existing outputs.
- Assess output packages (including both IFAs and customers).
- Establish viability of an outputs management systems for LP&I.
- Implement a change control process for future changes to templates which will also ensure outputs can be easily updated within a short turnaround time.
- Assess content to confirm that they provide sufficient & correct information to customers (eg, adding indicative maturity value to maturity packs)planning, risk/issues management, stakeholder management and financial tracking.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

Standard Lead Project Manager key accountabilities required (see below) in addition added focus on leading operational workstreams around proposition development including process communication and training.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Feeds into business study/programme proposals and business cases, ensuring alignment with business strategy; agreement of project benefits; and how these will be measured and tracked post implementation.
- Works with the business area to ensure an effective approach to business implementation, handover, and acceptance of the change.
- Governance and Reporting: Works closely with the Programme Leads to provide regular status reporting appropriately to different stakeholders and to agreed CMT standards and recommend options for contingency plans.
- Project Delivery: Defines and implements a detailed delivery approach for each stage of the project life cycle, obtains acceptance and buy-in to the approach from all team members, and produces and owns all project management deliverables, using established project methodologies, to the right level of quality.
- Planning and Finance: Produces and owns the project plan. Controls, manages and monitors project timescales and budgets, reporting variances, escalating as appropriate to overcome delays, difficulties or cost over-runs, and re-forecasting where necessary.
- Resource Management: Tracks resource requirements (including roles and responsibilities), budget and FTE profile for areas of responsibility.
- Stakeholder Management: Identifies key project stakeholders and develops an appropriate stakeholder communication plan.
