POSITION: LEAD PROJECT ENGINEER

Outsource UK Ltd are actively seeking to recruit for a contract role on behalf of a client.

THE CLIENT: WORLD LEADER IN DEFENCE MARKETS

THE JOB:

Takes management responsibility for engineering/project work and tasks. Develops plans and strategies.

Maths and science related qualifications with at least 10 years experience in industry Expert in modern project/business management techniques. Able to identify and manage areas of risk. Limited supervision required. Reports to group/team manager/director.

To carry out a range of activities to support the project management processes, help in delivering all activities and products to the agree time/cost and quality requirements

KEY TECHNICAL SKILLS

- The job holder demonstrates the ability to evaluate project controls performance and project information and data
- The job holder demonstrates the ability to define/set project objectives with teams and individuals
- The job holder demonstrates proficiency providing advice and support to senior programme managers and directors to support decision making
- The job holder demonstrates the ability to control work content and scope management within PCS process.
- The job holder demonstrates the ability to prepare and maintain project budgets.
- The job holder demonstrates proficiency in business project control toolsets (including risk)
- The job holder demonstrates the ability to control and monitor assigned sub-projects so they are delivered to agreed time, budget and quality, regularly reviewing and reporting on progress against plan and where necessary, interviewing so that the project is delivered to plan
- The job holder is proficient in ensuring the completion of project control activities.

ADDITIONAL KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Monitoring of progress against the baseline
- Identify emerging issues and trends
- Deputising for the APM/PM as required
- Assist Control Account Managers in the PCS process
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to meet their requirements, and lead on swift resolution of major issues
- Maintain coherence between project WBS and contractual SOW
- Support/manage the resolution or problems and issues to facilitate development of timely and effective solutions
- Support & manage the risk and opportunity processes
