Lead Piping Engineer

I currently have a requirement for a Lead Piping Engineer to join a leading drilling contractor in their Aberdeenoffice on a 12 month contract which is likely to extend. Your main duty will be to provide leadership to the piping discipline group and include technical guidance, design validation, mentoring and training of team members, QHSE compliance and resource management. Roles and responsibilities: - Offshore surveys and studies - Validating designs, drawings, calculations and material selection - Material selection and take-offs. - FAT/SIT document preparation - Production of datasheets and requisitions for piping, bellows, slide joints, cold supports etc. - Hazop / Hazid contribution - Development of work scopes and costings to support CTR's, lump sum bids and workpacks Requirements: - Engineering degree in relevant discipline - Experience working with a drilling contractor (ideally 10 years) - 5 years in offshore engineering sector in FEED and EPCI sectors - Experience in role and with an understanding of drilling operations - minimum 5 years - Knowledge of all types of piping applications (steam, crude, gas, etc) in low and HOHT applications - Experienced in engineering standards, rules and regulations for offshore drilling facilities Competencies: - Excellent man management skills - Competent in plant layout and piping topology - Understanding of stress analysis and pipe supporting - Customer (internal and external) management skills This is an office based role in Aberdeen, which may require some offshore work therefore you must be willing to work offshore and complete relevant certifications.
