Lead Java Technologist/Technical Architect

THE CLIENT

ConSol Partners are currently recruiting for a Lead Java Technologist/Technical Architect on initial 12 month contract for a government department based in the North West of England due to start ASAP.

THE ROLE

My client have are a UK governmental department that are looking for a Lead Java Technologist/Technical Architect to join their already well-established development team to work across various projects.

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will love technology and be a technical expert in a wide range of relevant technologies. They should be able to provide specialist knowledge to successfully design, build and deliver technology systems. They will also have hands-on expertise in a range of programming languages, Front End development technologies and be able to communicate concepts to a non-technical audience.

The successful candidate MUST have the following skill set:

- Hands on experience of working/participating in technical teams in a complex environment
- Detailed knowledge of digital systems and enterprise-wide systems.
- Extensive programming experience
- Understanding of Front End languages including JavaScript, .NET, Python or Java
- Experience with UNIX/Linux infrastructure
- An understanding of how to scale an application for high traffic sites
- Good understanding of web architecture
- Experience of solving large complex problems
- Good understanding of Internet protocols
- An understanding of Web accessibility
- Strong analytical skills
- Knowledge of application development methods across the complete life cycle
- Track record of communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience
- An ability to work with less experienced colleagues to help to bring up their skills levels
- Proven ability to quickly research and learn new programming tools and techniques
- Ability to work effectively across Departmental and other boundaries

The following skills are desirable, but not essential:

- Experience of collaborative working in an agile development environment
- Able to demonstrate use of public and social media presence as a technical thought leader
