JOB DESCRIPTION

- Lead the definition and delivery of a coherent, cost effective and documented Common Infrastructure design for the latest Nuclear Submarine Program in accordance with the overall integrated programme.
- Support specification and management of Network Common Functions requirements and ensure that these are defined and documented to support the letting of subsystem contracts.
- Support the CS Network Specification and ensure that this is documented to support the letting of subsystem contracts.
- Support production and maintenance of Service Definitions and the Common Information Model.
- Support production of Infrastructure Configuration Definitions for the programme Releases.
- Contribute to the program Design Control and progress reporting meetings as required.
- Provide CI design input and support to the programme Initiatives activities as required.
- Support Successor initiatives, providing CI design input and technical advice, supporting cost evaluation of the various options.
- Support the production of the Successor Parts, cable and eBOM data in accordance with the Successor Maturity Management Plan and integration Master Schedule (IMS).
- Provide design input addressing queries assisting in the delivery of Infrastructure components to inline with the published programme.
- Undertake Infrastructure design tasks and investigations as required by the Successor Engineering Manager.

The Infrastructure Systems Lead will support the Engineering Manager in conducting the following activities;

- Production of Technical Notes to support the resolution of design issues, design decisions and design options.
- Develop and update the Sub System Design Description documents for the appropriate sub

system. - Prepare inputs for approval to the Design Change Meeting (DCM) as the design matures.
- Production and update of the interface documentation (ICD, IFS, DES & TS) in accordance with the Programme.

THE INDIVIDUAL

- Essential Extensive experience of complex system design and qualification.
- Essential Thorough understanding of requirements management and acceptance
- Essential Knowledge of the techniques of Systems Engineering.
- Essential Self-motivated, an enthusiasm for problem solving, and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Essential Knowledge of network and high performance processing system design
