A leading global investment bank centralised inLondonis looking to hire a senior technical infrastructure architect to join their established specialist team of architects. These architects play a vital role in planning and executing key infrastructure initiatives, upgrades and brand new technology deployment so are at the fore front of the banking technology arms race to ensure maximum efficiency and output of systems.

The team work closely with business facing relationship managers to gather requirements and specific infrastructure subject matter expert designers across networks, servers, storage, databases and virtualisation to deliver these required services. Therefore, this person must not be an expert in just one area, they need to have a broad technical infrastructure skill set and a strong underlying understanding of the bigger picture and how all of the infrastructure technologies interlink.

Ideal Skill Set:
* Broad Infrastructure Engineering knowledge across: Operating Systems (Windows/Linux), Web Application Servers (MQ/Apache/Websphere/Weblogic), Databases (Sybase/Oracle/MySql), Storage (EMC/NetApp), Market Data and Middleware (RMDS/MQ/RV)
* Ability to determine realistic technology requirements and plan/design infrastructure delivery/solutions.
* Technology design reviews and planning improvements - Tech Road Maps
* Relationship management across both Technology and Business groups

A good grasp of financial/investment banking environments/dynamics is ideal.
