Lead Geologist

Tasks and Responsibilities:

* Lead a team of geologists, geophysicists and petrophysics towards achieving goals and targets as set by management. Supervise, coach and mentor the team as required to attain results
* Assist in setting work priorities
* Recommend data gathering requirements that will enable the asset to meet strategic objectives
* Provide expertise in well log analysis and log correlation, core descriptions and incorporation of core data into analysis - work closely with Petrophysicist on shale models
* Plan well paths, create geoprognosis, assist with staking requests and plats, Application to Drill Permits etc

Technical Skills:

* A proven record of shale development experience onshore USA is essential
* Experience with field development planning is a plus
* Good overview and hands-on command of relevant IT tools
* Some experience of business processes from a sizeable oil and gas company or large independent
* The chosen candidate will be responsible for leading a highly competent team of geoscientists, some with many years of experience. Personnel development skills are a requirement
