Lead Financial Accountant - CCAB/CIMA Qualified

I am looking to hire a Financial Accountant for one of my public sector client.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Leading on the preparation of the accounts - updating the interim accounts produced at Quarter 3 with final year end data and ensuring all necessary sign offs are achieved to allow a fully audited set of accounts to be laid in accordance with an agreed timetable.
- Liaison with external auditors and the preparation of information for the Audit Committee
- Management of an Assistant Accountant who will provide support to this role and oversee payments
- Maintaining strong financial control through the closure period
- Validating final balances and transferring to successor organisations
- Ensuring that there is sufficient knowledge transfer before closure

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

- Fully qualified accountant (CCAB or CIMA) with at least 3 years Post qualified experience.
- Experience of having taken a lead role in the provision of an organization Annual Report and Accounts.
- The key thing is having led on this is not just preparing information, carrying out reconciliations etc, but actually in pulling the whole thing together.
- Experience of having worked with Auditors.
