Our client in Titchfield, Hampshire currently has an opportunity for a Lead Engineer for the Electromagnetics design team.

Skills and Experience required:

- In-depth knowledge of electrical rotating machines, DC and AC, design, construction and manufacturing processes are important to the role as is utilization of modeling and design tools. Excellent organizational & communication skills are vital as the role will require working on multiple projects simultaneously, mostly in a technical lead role and involve communicating across, upwards and downwards within the organization.
- Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager for Electrical Products Engineering, the role will entail close working relationships with other functions within the engineering department and beyond, devising concepts, detail design and analysis, failure and root cause analysis. Knowledge of aerospace and OEM customer practices and regulations is highly desirable, but not essential.
- A key function of the role is responsibility to the Integrated Product Development Team, representing the Electrical products function. Accountability includes timely execution of highly technical projects predominantly of a development engineering nature.
- Typical projects include design of AC/DC electric motors for a variety of civil & military aerospace applications, electromagnetic brakes technical reports and papers.
- Keep informed on trends and developments within specialty or general area of activity and participate in knowledge exchange sessions within the wider company.
- Understanding of material selections and manufacturing processes in the area of electrical machines & wound components is essential. Understanding of aerospace standards & electrical aircraft systems is desirable, but not essential. 
- Engineering Degree or equivalent work experience in the area of electromagnetic component design, in particular electrical machines 
- The prospective candidate should be assessed with the view to becoming the project lead on focus programs and potential successor for the Engineering Manager, Electrical Products
